Student Awards in Geography

On May 9 2022 the Cyprus Geographical Association and the Geography Inspectorate of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, and Youth organized the event “Geography Day 2022” which was held at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Strovolos. During the event, high school students were awarded prizes and diplomas for the Pancyprian Student Competition in the geography of Cyprus on «The impacts of climate change in Cyprus and ways to address it.».

The competition was addressed to students of public and private secondary schools. The interest and participation of teachers and students was satisfactory. Papers were submitted by students from twenty schools and the level of work was generally very good.

The first prize was awarded jointly to the second-grade students of Apostolos Pavlos Paphos High School Nikolina Sergidou, Konstantina Frangou, Eleana Charalambous and Aphrodite Chatziekonomou and the 3rd grade students of Aglantzia High School Diamanto Konstantinou, Odysseas Pieridis, Maria Patiniou and Markos Socratous.

During the event, the students of Aglantzia High School who won the first prize and the second grade student of Vergina Larnaca High School Maria Evangelou who won second prize presented their studies.
